AgentFormers is a Research to Business project at the University of Helsinki. Our funding is granted by Business Finland and is intended to prepare for the commercialisation of research results and the exploration of potential business models1. Our project began in January 2025, and we are now in the final stages of conducting market studies and examination of our solution from a commercial perspective. We are actively seeking investors and potential early adopters of our system, and we would love to hear from you if you are interested!
The motivation
We found that during our research, we saw many organisations wasting an immense amount of time and resources on manual information retrieval and processing. We realised that our research into agentic systems was not just an academic exercise, but a potentially powerful solution to free up people’s time. Therefore, we decided to investigate the potential commercialisation of our research, and thus AgentFormers was born.
Our vision for AgentFormers is for the democratisation of agentic systems and AI for organisations which lack dedicated AI teams. Our platform will enable enterprise users to solve complex problemns and develop robust custom solutions. Proof-of-concept projects are currently underway, including collaborations with the University of Helsinki and industry partners.
The path forward
Our next immediate focus is the completion of the proof-of-concept pilots, with key findings shaping our final project goal of preparing for a potential spin-off company. Our system validation with university and industry partners is crucial for us, so we can obtain insights and feedback to further refine and develop our system.
